The Institutional Resilience program is specifically designed for decision and policy-makers. The main objective of the program is to ensure that institutions in Africa can effectively respond to and recover from disruption, while retaining their core functions. More specifically, the program aims to provide them with the means to achieve the following objectives:

  • Identify and manage potential risks to minimize their impact on the institution.
  • Ensure that critical services and operations can continue during and after a disruption.
  • Develop and implement effective response plans to handle emergencies promptly and efficiently.
  • Facilitate the swift recovery and restoration of normal operations following a disruption.
  • Enhance the institution’s ability to adapt to changing conditions and unforeseen challenges.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure coordinated and collaborative responses.
  • Regularly review and update resilience plans based on lessons learned and emerging threats.

The program will focus on the following key components:

  • Risk Assessment and Management: Design a risk cartography and mitigation to anticipate potential risks and equip the entrepreneurial ecosystem and communities with pre-emptive strategies/action plans on how to minimize consequences of potential crisis and disasters. Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Capacity Building: Invest in training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff. This includes crisis management, leadership training, and technical skills.
  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and the community. Collaboration and communication are key to building a resilient network.
