Promoting gender equality and empowering women are essential strategies for building resilient and sustainable economies. It is recognized that when women have equal access to education, finance, information, land, employment and leadership opportunities, they contribute significantly to economic growth and stability. As a result, empowered women bring diverse perspectives and skills, stimulating innovation and productivity. This diversity in the workforce enables stronger decision-making and problem-solving, which is essential to meeting economic challenges. Recognizing that this is not just a moral imperative but a strategic approach to achieving sustainable economic resilience, our work at CEFRES is to provide meaningful insights into the importance of addressing gender disparities, the urgency of empowering women to build economic resilience in sub-Saharan Africa. We offer key recommendations to policy-makers on how to achieve the objectives of promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls.
