Position Overview

CEFRES is recruiting three (3) Research Fellows to support its research agenda and contribute to high-impact policy analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research Fellows will:

  • Conduct in-depth research on economic issues and development trends using survey data, administrative datasets, and fieldwork
  • Apply statistical software and quantitative methods to analyze complex datasets
  • Develop and refine econometric models to assess policy impacts and forecast economic outcomes
  • Produce high-quality research outputs, including reports, policy briefs, charts, and analytical dashboards
  • Formulate evidence-based insights and recommendations for policymakers
  • Contribute to methodological innovation and collaborative research initiatives within the team

Key Results Expected

  • Systematic review of economic news, academic literature, and socio-economic trends, including gender-related dynamics
  • Collection and analysis of national and subnational economic data, including gender-disaggregated indicators
  • Assessment of macroeconomic performance and formulation of policy recommendations
  • Execution of qualitative and quantitative studies across economic sectors
  • Development of a dashboard of social, macroeconomic, and financial indicators to identify vulnerabilities and resilience pathways

Institutional Arrangement

Research Fellows will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Research and collaborate closely with other research staff and external partners.

Required Skills and Experience

Education

  • Master’s degree in Economics or a related field (minimum)
  • A PhD in Economics or a related discipline is an asset

  • Ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder research activities
