Position Overview

CEFRES is recruiting three (3) Researchers to contribute to our objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Researchers will be responsible for:

  • Investigating economic issues and trends through extensive research, utilizing data from surveys, databases, and field studies.
  • Employing statistical software and mathematical models to interpret complex data.
  • Creating and refining econometric models to forecast economic conditions.
  • Presenting research results through clear reports, charts, and tables.
  • Providing insights and recommendations based on research findings.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop new research techniques and share findings.

Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Review economic news and literature on development issues and socio-economic trends, including gender participation.
  • Collect and analyze national and local economic data, including gender-disaggregated data.
  • Analyze macroeconomic performance and develop evidence-based policy recommendations.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research in economic sectors.
  • Develop a dashboard of social, macroeconomic, and financial indicators to identify vulnerabilities.

Institutional Arrangement

Researchers will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Research.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: Minimum requirement is a Master’s degree in economics or a related field.
  • Desired Fields of Research: Economic Inequality, Labor Economics, Social Mobility, Fiscal Policy, Monetary Policy, Regional Integration, Economic Freedom, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Health Economics, or related fields.
  • Experience: At least five (5) years (with Master’s) or three (3) years (with PhD) in relevant fields.
  • Required Skills: Coordination with government agencies, experience in think tanks, and proficiency in statistical analysis.
